Assistant Principal - Shareretha Johnson-Hinton

My name is Sharretha Johnson-Hinton, and I am honored to begin my 28th year in education as the Assistant Principal at J. W. Bishop Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year!

Throughout my career, I have served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, district specialist, and district coordinator. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to supporting educators, fostering high-quality instruction, and ensuring academic success for every student.

The desire to become an educator began when I was 10 years old! From then on, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. That dream led me to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University Texas. I am also a proud veteran, having served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling on cruises with my husband, Terrance, of 20 years, and spending time with our dog, Kong.

I am excited to join the J. W. Bishop Elementary family and look forward to partnering with our dedicated staff, supportive families, community members, and, most importantly, our incredible students! We will have an amazing school year!
